Our democracy is under attack. Our country is divided. Our leaders aren‘t accountable. And we're fixing it together.

Together we are building a grasstops and grassroots movement to stop politicians from attacking citizen initiatives, reversing the will of the people, and placing deceptive language on the ballot. We are also working to make the ballot initiative process more powerful and resilient to better pass gold-standard democracy reforms and expand to more states.

Coalition Partners - Current News

  • Coalition member Fix Democracy First has endorsed the Seattle Democracy Voucher Program campaign and is working hard to secure passage. Voters have until August 5th to support this measure which would levy a tax that gives vouchers to candidates in upcoming elections. This program puts power in the hands of voters and encourages small donations.

We are Fighting Back to Reinvigorate a Government of the People

The good news: many reformers are recognizing the urgent need to protect the citizen ballot initiative and referendum process. Over 40 nonpartisan grassroots organizations and champions (with 62,000+ citizen volunteers) have already joined forces to create the Respect Voters Coalition, with more to come.
