Our Work
The People seeks to address the root causes of government ineffectiveness, not just symptoms. We work to produce truly non-partisan solutions in all we do. We do not seek to advantage one party or the other, but instead aim to reduce the unproductive effects of the current two-party political system. We entrust and empower the people of our country to lead government reform efforts and support their agency in all we do. We contribute to (re)building relationships and a sense of community across our country through our work together.

The Forum
The Forum is a new model for civic leadership at a time when trust is low, division is high, and the need for credible, citizen-led solutions has never been greater.
This moment matters. The Forum has an opportunity to lead at a time when our country desperately needs a healthier way forward. Our state programs in Nevada, New Hampshire, and South Carolina are at the vanguard of a broader national strategy to show that deliberative, technology-driven processes can bring people together across differences and produce meaningful consensus. In states that play such an important role in shaping our political future, this kind of work can help set a different tone for 2028 and beyond.
People’s Bill of Rights 250
The People’s Bill of Rights 250 exists to ask the American People fundamental questions about freedom, power, and responsibility before anyone else writes the answers.
This project is designed to invite participation across political, cultural, and generational lines. It is guided by constitutional scholars, experts on both sides of an issue, and everyday Americans—but owned by no party and no campaign. This project does not attempt to replace existing institutions - it restores the missing step before them: public deliberation.
Respect Voters Coalition
Cross-Partisan Coalition Fighting for Every Voter
The members of our coalition have successfully passed statewide and local ballot initiatives in the past, including independent redistricting commissions, open primaries, conflict of interest reform, voting reform, and more, in Michigan, Nevada, Missouri, and beyond. Their leadership includes Democrats, Republicans, and independents. Together, we can secure this crucial voting right and tool for generations to come.
New Hampshire
New Hampshire Together is founded on the belief that we must come together as a community, putting party loyalty aside, to work to fix our democracy rule by rule, reform by reform. We are looking for Granite Staters to join us in identifying and championing election and legislative reforms here in New Hampshire.
Operation Vote America
The People has launched an educational video series, state by state, on topics surrounding the election process to help encourage citizens to vote, promote trust in our election process, and inspire people to serve as poll workers/observers. Part of our program is highlighting voting resources like our Peace at the Polls toolkit and Voting Resource Guide.
Vote-o-Pedia
The People's Interactive Guide to Voter Access & Election Integrity Across the US.
The diverse group of political buffs in our Voting Rights Committee has designed and developed a comprehensive election tracking resource to understand where states are succeeding and where there is room for improvement when it comes to having effective elections.
Voting Resource Guide
The Voting Resource Guide is a one-stop shop for everything you need to be an active and informed voter. This includes resources related to registration, voter education, polling place check, nonpartisan ballot guides, election dates / reminders, and more.
National Assembly
Our signature annual event bringing together people from across the country and political spectrum to find common ground. Learn more about the assemblies we’ve held since 2019, including our 2026 National Assembly, held in September.
Facilitation Training
This program provides skill-building and guided facilitation experience for those interested in becoming a facilitator with The People or just using those skills in their own communities. We offer periodic and custom trainings.
